November 5, 2022 is OCBSA’s Day of Service where Scouts dedicate themselves to servicing their community. Crew 606 participate in Volunteer Day at Big Oak Canyon where they processed finished compost and used it to plant hundreds of seeds. They also gathered tinder, kindlings and firewood for EarthRoot’s upcoming classes on building campfires.
Every journey starts with a vision....for adventure, for fun, for friendship, or for memories that will last a lifetime. Day 0 of the Kodiak Challenge, the youth learned about what is a vision, what are values, and tying them together to form a shared vision. This is critical for the success of the Kodiak Challenge because without a shared vision; a common goal, there is no team. Instead, it's a group of individuals. "Vision is a doable dream, a distant goal that’s worth pursuing because it involves growth and success and provides the binding energy to bring a team together to accomplish great things."
